Is Tokyo Safe, Japan Nuclear Crisis, Tokyo Radiation Levels

Radioactive Cesium far above legal limits found south of Tokyo

Alright, they said that Tokyo is safe! I never believed them!

Today we hear that radioactive Cesium has far above the legal limits has been found south of Tokyo. Remember that the Fukushima plants are to the north of Tokyo. So common sense tells us that Tokyo is in right in the middle!

Here is a new excerpt from Herald Sun. It’s there on WSJ and all over the news:

Kanagawa prefecture has started a recall of the tea after measuring about 570 becquerel of caesium per kilogram in leaves grown in the city of Minamiashigara, prefectural officials said. The legal limit is 500 Bq/kg.

The prefecture has asked the city and its agricultural cooperative to recall the tea and stop its sale for now, although the caesium was at a level unlikely to affect human health, the prefecture said.

“It was the first detection of radiation above the legal limit in farm products grown in our prefecture,” said Hideto Funahashi, of the Kanagawa agricultural bureau.

“We have not specified the source of the radiation, but we cannot imagine any other than the nuclear power plant.”

They found the radioactive material there only because they tested it! When was the last time anyone tested for radioactive materials in elements in Tokyo? The last time I remember, Radioactive Cesium was found in human breast milk! What next?

People must be FOOLS to believe the government and TEPCO that we are all safe in Tokyo and in areas around it! It’s yet another wake call. This is consistently on the lines of what happened after Chernobyl 25 years ago. How many wake up calls do you need, people?

About Tokyo Nuclear Watchdog

I'm a foreigner living in Tokyo, Japan, and I have been impacted by the Japan Nuclear Crisis of March 11, 2011. Though the impact of the massive earthquake that was followed by an even more disastrous tsunami, which led to the nuclear crisis, was not as disastrous in Tokyo as it was around the Fukushima Nuclear Plants, there has not been sufficient data to prove that Tokyo is safe from nuclear radiation as is being portrayed by the authorities. This site aims at erring on the side of safety while it keeps a close watch on the crisis and how it affects those residing in and around the Tokyo (Kanto) region. Remember that the proper truth about radiation may only come out 5 or 10 years later when a classified file gets leaked out, but that will be too late for you to do anything about it if you were in Tokyo and had been through those radiation then (which as of this writing, is NOW). Do not believe the media. Trust your instincts, and make your own well-informed decisions about your safety. This site is here to help you, and your contributions are most welcome.
